⏰ Introducing Routines

v0.10.0

Pivit AI can now work on a schedule, tell you when it's done, and open your documents.

New Features

  • Routines: Assistants can now do repeated or one-off work on a schedule. Set one up in the AI -> Routines settings page, or just ask an assistant to handle it for you. Routines can work either in the cloud or on-device, and are able to wait for your computer to turn on before starting any work.
  • Notifications: Pivit tells you when a routine finishes something, when an assistant is waiting on you to confirm an action, and when a long answer finishes whilst the chat isn't open. You can customise your quiet hours and choose which notifications you want in settings.
  • Documents: Assistants can read and edit Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides and PDFs in the folders you've given them access to.
  • Delegation: For bigger questions, an assistant can now split the work across subagents that research in parallel and report back.
  • Pivit Skills: Added built-in "routine", "remind" and "remember" skills.

Improvements

  • Memories are now grouped by who or what they're about, and fade if nothing needs them again.
  • Reduced installer size (roughly a third of its old size), so downloads and updates are much quicker.
  • AI responses stream faster and cost less to run, thanks to improved prompt caching and conversation history.
  • Long chains of tool calls are now grouped in the chat to keep visual clutter minimal.
  • Archived chats can now be deleted automatically after a set number of days.
  • New app icons across the installer, taskbar and tray.
  • Pivit now prompts you to update when your version is too old for the server to support.
  • Slightly improved the look of the AI chat interface across various themes.
  • As always, updated the list of available AI models to reflect the latest model offerings from familiar providers. This is a server-side update that affects all versions of Pivit.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where typing in the Command Bar for the first time since launching would briefly freeze the app.
  • Various fixes and improvements to the AI chat experience.

📜 Skills & Connectors

v0.9.0

Create resuable AI workflows through Skills and connect Pivit AI to external services via Connectors.

New Features

  • Skills: Skills are now supported in Pivit. Installed third-party Skills will automatically be detected and you can create more in the AI -> Skills settings page. Skills are saved workflows that agents can use to perform specific, repeatable tasks. Pivit assistants can create their own skills to learn from its own experience.
  • Connectors: Connectors can now be used to connect Pivit to external services and allow assistants to interact with them. There are hundreds of Connectors available, including popular services like Slack, Google Calendar, and more. Custom MCP servers can be connected to via a URL.

Improvements

  • The 'AI & Assistants' settings page is now a folder, similar to the 'Plugins' page. Different Pivit AI settings have been reorganised into different sub-pages for easier management.
  • Added an indicator to the new chat interface signaling when personalisation is in progress.
  • As always, updated the list of available AI models to reflect the latest model offerings from familiar providers. This is a server-side update that affects all versions of Pivit.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue causing the app to freeze briefly upon startup.
  • Various fixes and improvements to the AI chat experience.

📖 Quick Search Bookmarks

v0.8.0

Quick Search plugin adds bookmarks and Pivit AI is now more personal and capable than ever before.

New Features

  • Quick Search bookmarks: Quick Search now supports bookmarks, allowing you to save and search through your favorite web pages. Bookmarks also support custom bangs and search parameters, and since they're real commands, you can use them in the Command Bar and Pivit Wheel! You can manage your bookmarks from the Quick Search plugin settings.
  • Persistent commands can now be modified and reordered in the Command Bar settings. You can add up to 5 persistent commands.
  • Assistants can now read and edit files in folders you allow them access to, allowing for truely agentic work with your computer. Only folders you explicitly allow access to will be accessible to the assistant.
  • Assistants can now run shell commands on your computer. The assistant will ask for permission before executing any shell commands.
  • The AI "new chat" screen is now personalised with unique prompt suggestions tailored to you.

Improvements

  • Overhauled the AI infrastructure to be more efficient, reliable, and scalable.
  • Additional minor improvements and fixes.

🧠 Assistant Memory

v0.7.0

Pivit AI now remembers what matters, searches your past chats, and can build its own UI mid-conversation.

New Features

  • Long-term memory: Assistants now save facts about you as you talk (your preferences, relationships, projects, etc.) so it can make its responses more relevant and personalised. This can be turned off in Settings if preferred. To view or edit your memories, you can either click on the Manage button in the Memory section of Settings, or click on the memory button in the AI chat.
  • Sloane: A new assistant personality that can help you with your work and personal life. Sloane strikes that perfect tone of professional work without sounding like a robot.
  • AI-triggered commands: Assistants can now trigger Pivit commands for you to perform actions on your behalf.
  • AI-driven UI: When it adds value, assistants will now display UI elements - including interactive controls - to make your experience more streamlined and intuitive.
  • Improved safety: Before doing something that impacts your computer or changes data, the assistant will check with you first.
  • Conversation search: Assistants can now look back through previous conversations to answer questions like "what did we decide about that holiday last week?"
  • Cost insights: You can now see the relative cost of each model via the number of dollar ($) symbols in the model selection dropdown.

Improvements

  • Adjusted the order of persistent commands (Search, Ask AI, Open AI Chat, Analyse Screen) in the command bar.
  • Improved the updating experience with more information and animations.
  • Reduced sensitivity to the input for Window Management commands in the command bar.
  • Improved AI web search, with clearer sources and fewer dead-end results.
  • Tuned Luna and Tony assistant personalities.
  • Some small performance improvements and optimisations.

Fixes

  • Fixed the Pivit Wheel losing keyboard focus in some cases.
  • Fixed Pivit forcing Windows' Do Not Disturb mode on.
  • Fixed Pivit not allowing the Windows taskbar to be shown in auto-hide mode.
  • Fixed issues causing the AI chat message edit UI to not adjust its width correctly or be scrollable.
  • Fixed the "Thinking..." header in the AI chat not resuming after re-receiving reasoning tokens after output text.
  • Other small fixes and improvements.
