Computer access and tool approval
Letting the assistant read and write files and run commands, which folders it can reach, and how approval works.
Pivit's built-in tools
Settings → AI & Assistant → Tools lists what the assistant is allowed to do. Each is a switch.

Computer access
Computer access is the significant one. It lets the assistant work with real files on your machine — read a document, edit a spreadsheet, create a PDF, run a shell command — and it is deliberately fenced in two ways.
Only folders you grant
The assistant can reach nothing until you say so. Under Computer Access, add a folder and choose whether it gets read or read and write. Everything outside your granted folders is invisible to it, no matter what it is asked.
Grants are per device. A folder you grant on your laptop is not granted on your desktop.
Revoke a folder at any time from the same list. Grant narrowly — a projects folder rather than your whole user directory — and widen it when a task actually needs more.
Document formats
Within granted folders the assistant handles ordinary files as well as Word documents, Excel workbooks, PowerPoint decks and PDFs, reading and creating them directly rather than asking you to convert anything.
Tool approval
Settings → AI & Assistant → Tools → Tool Approval governs actions that can affect your device or change data, such as running a command:

"Always allow" removes the last check on actions that write files and run commands. If you turn it on, keep your granted folders tight.
Approval prompts appear in the conversation, and Settings → Notifications → Needs Input sends a desktop notification when one is waiting — worth leaving on, since an unanswered prompt stalls the whole task.
