Privacy and diagnostics
What Pivit sends back, how to change or disable diagnostics, and reading the app's own logs.
Diagnostics
Settings → General controls what Pivit reports about itself. Diagnostics cover crashes and how features are used; they do not include what you type into the command bar or the contents of your conversations.
The default is minimal. Turn diagnostics off entirely if you would rather send nothing — Pivit works the same either way.
Your files stay yours
The file index is built and stored on your machine. It is not uploaded, and cloud sync does not include it.
The AI assistant only reaches files in folders you have explicitly granted, and only when computer access is on. See Computer access.
Logs
Settings → Logs shows Pivit's own log stream, with a level control under developer settings. Levels run from errors only up to verbose debug output.
Logs are written to disk on your machine and rotate automatically, so they do not accumulate indefinitely. Raise the level to debug when you are reproducing a problem, and lower it again afterwards — verbose logging is noisy.
When reporting a bug, the log around the moment things went wrong is the single most useful thing you can attach. Redact anything you would not want to share; log lines can contain file paths.
