Troubleshooting
Fixes for the problems that come up most — shortcuts that do nothing, missing results, stale indexes and sign-in loops.
The command bar will not open
Another application has almost certainly claimed Alt+Space. Change Pivit's shortcut under Settings → Shortcuts, or quit the other application to confirm that is the cause.
If Pivit is not running at all, launch it from the Start menu. Check that Auto Start is on under Settings → General so it comes back after a restart.
The Pivit Wheel does not appear
Confirm Enable Pivit Wheel is on under Settings → Pivit Wheel. If it works everywhere except one application, that application is capturing the keyboard — some games and remote desktop clients do. Choose a combination it does not use.
A command is missing from results
Check the plugin is enabled under Settings → Plugins; a disabled plugin's commands do not appear anywhere. If the plugin is enabled, try running Reload Plugins from the command bar.
Commands decide for themselves when they are relevant, so a command may simply not match what you typed. Typing more of its name will surface it.
File search results are out of date
Run Rebuild File Index. If files in a particular folder never appear, check it is not in the excluded list under Settings → Plugins → Files, and add it to Additional folders if it sits outside your home folder.
An application will not launch from the bar
Newly installed applications take a moment to be indexed. If one still does not appear after a restart of Pivit, it is likely not registered with Windows in a way Pivit can see — launching it once from the Start menu usually resolves that.
Pivit keeps signing me out
Make sure you are running one installation rather than several copies from different folders. If it persists, sign out from Settings → Account and sign back in, which re-establishes the session cleanly.
The AI assistant says a feature is unavailable
AI features require Pro. Check your plan under Settings → Account → Billing, and your remaining allowance under Settings → AI & Assistant → General.
If a specific action is refused rather than the whole assistant, the relevant tool is probably switched off under Settings → AI & Assistant → Tools, or the folder involved has not been granted. See Computer access.
Pivit says it needs updating before it will work
The version you are on is no longer supported by the server. Run Check for Updates, or reinstall from the download page.
Still stuck
Turn the log level up to debug under Settings → Logs, reproduce the problem, and include the surrounding log lines when you report it.
