AI Chat

This plugin is the AI assistant's entry point in the command bar. The assistant itself — models, memory, routines, tools — is covered in The AI assistant.

Ask

Named after your chosen assistant, so it reads Ask Pivit by default and changes if you pick a different one under Settings → AI & Assistant.

Type a question and this command sends it straight through, opening the reply in the bar. It scores itself on whether your input actually looks like a question and on its length, so it steps forward for how do llms work? and stays back for chrome.

It accepts text and images as context, so a screenshot in your clipboard comes along with the question.

Open AI Chat

Opens the full conversation view with your history, rather than starting from what you typed. Use it when you want to continue something, not ask something new.

It is available on the Pivit Wheel, and sits in the first slot by default.

Analyse Screen

Captures what is currently on screen and asks the assistant to describe it — which applications and sites are open, what you appear to be doing, the key visible text, and anything notable or wrong.

This is the fastest route to "what does this error mean". You do not describe the error; the assistant reads it.

The command surfaces when your input mentions the screen or the display, or uses words like "look" and "this", and is on the wheel.

Sticking around

All three commands stay in the results for a few keystrokes after they first appear, rather than flickering out as you keep typing. A question takes more than a moment to type, and the command you are heading for should not disappear halfway through.

Ask AI and Open AI Chat are also two of the four default pinned commands, so in practice they are always there.
