Pivit
Commands for controlling the app itself — settings, connecting apps, reloading plugins, updates and quitting.
Pivit's own controls, reachable the same way as everything else.
Commands
| Command | Does |
|---|---|
| Settings | Opens the settings window |
| Connect Apps | Opens the connectors page, ready to sign in to an app |
| Reload Plugins | Re-reads every installed plugin without restarting |
| Check for Updates | Checks now rather than waiting for the background check |
| Send Diagnostics Report | Sends a diagnostics report for support |
| Restart Pivit | Restarts the app |
| Quit Pivit | Closes Pivit entirely |
All of them are available on the Pivit Wheel. Settings is on it by default.
Notes on a few
Settings is the one you will use most, and it is worth remembering that it is a command — you never need to hunt for a tray icon.
Reload Plugins picks up changes to installed plugins in place. It is mainly of interest if you are writing a plugin, where it turns the develop-and-check loop into a keypress, but it is also the first thing to try if a plugin has got itself stuck.
Check for Updates is rarely necessary — Pivit updates in the background and applies the update on the next restart. Use it when you have been told a fix has shipped, or when the app says the version you are on is no longer supported.
Send Diagnostics Report packages up what support needs to look into a problem. It respects your diagnostics setting under Settings → General.
Quit Pivit actually quits. Closing the command bar does not — it stays running in the tray so the shortcut keeps working.
Settings
None. This plugin cannot usefully be disabled, since it is how you reach settings in the first place.
